In response to media reports that "the release of a text message warning was related to a US aircraft carrier", the Ministry of National Defense (MND) reiterated the Joint Air-force Operations Command (JAOC) had issued the early warning according to the regulations to protect the safety of our nationals, considering the abnormal trajectory of a carrier rocket released by the CCP on the 9th. As such, the release of the warning was not related in any way to the movements of a US aircraft carrier, hence the report was untrue.
The MND explained that the release of early warning messages is related national defense security and enemy threats. It is not impacted by political factors such as an election. The MND therefore urges the media to conduct their due diligence to verify the situation before making reports to avoid misleading the general public.
